Material required: Funnel (Bottle/ Styrofoam cup), String, Fine sand.
Description: A pendulum consists of a funnel filled with fine sand. Displace the Funnel and release. The number of different patterns obtained.The figures obtained are known as Lissajous figures, names after French scientist Jules Antoine Lissajous, who first observed this in 1857.
Note: to obtain Lissajous figures one can make use of colours also.
