Terrific demonstration of magnetization using ring magnet.
Material required: Plastic bottle, Sticks, Cycle spoke, Steel wire and a
Ring magnet, etc…
Description: Fix
four long wooden sticks to an old plastic bottle. Make a propeller with 12-petals from another bottle and fix
a cycle spoke to its lid. Place a ring-magnet in the spoke. Stand the spoke
upright in two holes on the 4-legged bottle. Place the bottle under a ceiling
fan. The breeze will make the propeller spin. This will rotate the cycle spoke.
The lower end of the spoke would be magnetized because of the ring magnet. If
you keep a steel wire shaped star it will slowly dance with the spinning spoke.
One can also try different shape steel-snake, safety pin or a sewing machine
bobbin.
