This is a very dramatic way to create waves.
This device demonstrates how a pendulum’s length and period are related.
Different Models:
Description: Wave pendulum is built of equally weighted objects suspended by different lengths of string (Fifteen pendulums). All the pendulum beside each other at equal separations and released simultaneously. Their differing periods cause them to form a “wave” image together that cycle through all possible patterns.
This device demonstrates how a pendulum’s length and period are related.
Note: The period of one complete cycle of the dance is 60
seconds. The length of the longest pendulum has been adjusted so that it
executes 51 oscillations in this 60 second period. The length of each
successive shorter pendulum is carefully adjusted so that it executes one
additional oscillation in this period. Thus, the 15th pendulum (shortest)
undergoes 65 oscillations.
